An outer glow is a direct result of inner healing and liberation, so at Brio we aim to provide you with the safest and most nurturing experience possible. From the clean products we use to the conversations we have, our goal is to support your growth and alchemize your sense of self.
Brio is a cleaner-air and safer-space establishment. The products we choose are free of ammonia, PPD, resorcinol, formaldehyde, and other toxic chemicals. When you choose us, you are choosing to walk with us toward a healthier, freer, and more just life experience for all beings of the earth.
My commitment to humanity and art is the driving force behind all I do. Come sit in my chair if you're looking to be nurtured and seen. I specialize in easy breezy low-maintenance cuts and blonding with a strong skillset for wavy and curly textures. With my education background, I love teaching about scalp science and your specific hair texture to get the most out of your unique hair chemistry.
I was a public librarian for 12 years before pursuing my true passion - skincare! I have been blessed to be trained by several veterans in the esthetics industry and continue to receive guidance from them.
My philosophy is never stop learning! When you come see me, you have my full attention. I strive to give each of my clients a true EXPERIENCE! I love what I do and that shines through in my work. I hope to be your zen, happy place!
I am proud to use Tuel, an active botanical, vegan skin and body line, and Berodin Wax, a luxury wax line.
I'm a first generation Salvadoran trans woman born in Los Angeles, CA, raised in Fort Smith, AR, and currently residing in the beautiful city of Little Rock, AR. Though I’ve always been a stylist at heart, entering and completing Cosmetology school during a Global pandemic was tough. It’s not always an easy industry in which to find one’s place, but joining the team at Cocoon Collaborative changed my life. When I met the other collaborators, I felt inspired to lean into my authenticity even if it meant leaving people and old ways of thinking behind. My goal as your hairdresser, now at Brio, is not just to cut or color your hair, but to inspire you to love yourself unconditionally. Thank you for choosing to join me on the journey.

Brio is a salon and esthetics space that houses 5 small businesses. The folks who choose to work here do so because we share common values. We acknowledge that we are one of many such places where you could choose to spend your money. We hope that if you choose us, it's because your values align with ours.
Our values:
Sustainability: We value our Earth home and acknowledge the opportunities we have to keep it a viable place for human existence. We understand that human liberation is inextricably linked to the "land back" movement and Earth justice.
Justice: We value justice for all beings everywhere. We are committed to catalyzing joy and liberation for all.
Community: We value relationships and seek to lift up those around us. We recognize that it is indeed the only thing that will save us.
Growth: We value emotional, physical, and spiritual health and evolution. We choose products and practices that support our and your overall wellbeing.
A statement from Brio founder:
In the spirit of transparency, I first want you to know where I stand and then invite you to stand with me. In light of the onslaught of recent and not-so-recent events that highlight ongoing injustices in our community and in our world, I am issuing the following statement:
All human beings are created equal and deserve to live freely from oppression and injustice. I recognize that I exist in and, in many ways, benefit from a white-centric, white supremacist, patriarchal, heterosexual and cis-gender normative system and I am committed to dismantling said system. I am committed to spending my time, energy, and money in spaces--be they virtual, mental, or physical--that actively work toward progress and liberty for people of color, people who are disabled, people whose gender identity, sexuality, or any other aspects of WHO THEY ARE have rendered them intentionally underserved and oppressed by the system of colonization and brutality advanced by whiteness and the normative values of American culture.
If you are a person who has been intentionally underserved by our culture's institutions and systems, please know I am committed to holding space for you and creating sanctuary for you. I will continue to study and listen. I will continue to look in the mirror to engage deeply and honestly with my own learned and ingrained fragility, privilege, and phobias. I am open and I am willing to do better. I am here and I am standing with you.
In love and solidarity,
Jess
